ACE Scholarships
ACE Scholarships was founded in 2000 by Alex Cranberg, Charlie Gallagher, Ralph Nagel, John Saeman and the late Ed McVaney and John Walton to provide low-income parents with the freedom to choose the K-12 schools that are best for their children.
The founders’ vision was powerful but simple: that all children have access to great schools. The founders’ commitment to launch ACE was formed through many years of frustration with a lack of reform within the public school system and unsuccessful legislative efforts to provide publicly funded vouchers to families for private school.
They were also keenly aware that low-income students lagged far behind students of other incomes and that overall, American students continued to fall further behind students in other countries.
Belize Online Learning
Since November 2007, Aspect has supported the International Foundation for Academic Innovation (IFAI), which manages computer-based learning labs in eight villages in the Toledo region of Belize. With Aspect's support, IFAI provides supplemental education to over 1,000 students in an area lacking access to high-quality schooling. Aspect has contributed more than $800,000 to IFAI's efforts, resulting in a more than 30% increase in students' successful passing rates on local standardized tests. Aspect and Margo Branscomb have created educational opportunities for local children who otherwise would not have the background to pursue higher levels of education.
Community Engagement
Aspect, through its local subsidiaries, are involved in community engagement efforts in both Hungary and Croatia. The principal objective is to give back to communities that Aspect has pursued since forming the company. These include helping those in need, supporting local initiatives, sport clubs and sporting events, science, culture and many other fields. Constructive relationships with local communities is vital for our operations. Becoming a good corporate citizen and community member is more than just business. It defines who we are as a company.
Camp for Ukrainian War Refugees
Since the outbreak between Ukraine and Russia early 2022, Aspect has provided shelter for Ukrainian refugee families near the town of Mezőkövesd, Hungary. It is more than just accommodation and food – social and health care, schooling, helping people to find a job are all part of the daily life of the camp. Dozens of refugees selected our camp as temporary homes before returning home or moving on elsewhere in the world.
